Love how you followed your heart instead of following what others say, especially when you focused on these activities instead of meditation. Thanks for sharing.

I love this! Funnily enough I’ve also come to the same conclusions about all of these things.

On the third one, my mom who blazed the career plus family path for me, always recommended being an integrator to me. Growing up she told me that the key was always to have enough flexibility in both work and life so you could choose on an hour by hour basis where you should be. It definitely paid off for her so I tend to always keep that in the back of my mind.

Totally +100 on the "keep slack on both sides" advice. You never know which direction you'll need it.

Love it! I'm glad you didn't get into the "Oh the advice doesn't work, so it must be me" trap. You discarded them and found what works for you! Kudos.

Thanks Suresh! You make a good point. If I'm being honest, I've fallen in that trap a lot including for these pieces of advice. Recognizing it and moving on is hard!

#3 resonates with me so much! I was once given this piece of advice by a man with no kids! While I appreciated the intent, my strategy is to consult but make my own decision on these very personal matters.

Yep! All advice is a gift but you may not want to keep all gifts you receive.
